Getting Started in 5 Simple Steps

Choose Your Role

Pick from 5 unique characters — Sevak, Bhakt, Sant, Kirtankar, or Ghar Sabha Leader. Each role has special abilities that contribute to the group’s pilgrimage in different ways.

Set Up the Board

Place the game board at the center of your table. Shuffle the Pillar Cards and Maya Block cards into separate decks. Distribute starting tokens to each player based on their chosen role.

Begin Your Journey

Roll the dice and start moving through heritage spaces on the board. Each space represents a sacred site or meaningful moment in the pilgrimage, triggering different events and opportunities.

Draw & Act

Draw Pillar Cards that teach values of Seva, Bhakti, Unity, and Dharma. Face Maya Blocks that present temptations and challenges. Make choices together as a family — your decisions shape the journey.

Build Together

Pool your earned tokens as a team and build the Mandir piece by piece. Each section requires tokens from different pillars, encouraging everyone to contribute. The game is complete when the Mandir stands whole.

Meet the Characters

Sevak

The selfless servant. Earns bonus tokens when helping other players overcome Maya Blocks. Embodies the spirit of giving without expectation.

Bhakt

The devoted one. Draws extra Pillar Cards at sacred spaces on the board. Strengthens the team through deep devotion and prayer.

Sant

The wise guide. Can share tokens freely with any player on the board. Offers Sadbuddhi guidance when the team faces difficult decisions.

Kirtankar

The joyful singer. Inspires adjacent players, granting them extra movement. Uplifts the group through devotional song and celebration.

Ghar Sabha Leader

The family anchor. Can call a “Ghar Sabha” to let all players discuss and redistribute tokens. Builds unity through family assemblies.

Understanding the Game Mechanics

What are Pillar Cards?

Pillar Cards represent the four core values of the game: Seva (selfless service), Bhakti (devotion), Unity (togetherness), and Dharma (righteous living). When you land on certain spaces or complete challenges, you draw a Pillar Card that teaches a value and awards corresponding tokens. Collecting tokens from all four pillars is essential to building the Mandir together.

What happens when you face a Maya Block?

Maya Blocks are challenges that represent temptations and obstacles on the spiritual path. When you draw a Maya Block card, it presents a scenario — such as a temptation toward ego, greed, or shortcuts. The family discusses the situation together and makes a collective choice. Choosing the dharmic path may cost resources short-term but rewards the team with stronger pillar tokens. Giving in to Maya may seem easier but sets the group back on their journey.

How do you earn tokens?

Tokens are earned through several immersive actions: drawing Pillar Cards and completing their prompts, helping fellow players through Maya Blocks, landing on sacred heritage spaces, and using your character’s special abilities. Each token corresponds to one of the four pillars. The key is that tokens belong to the team — they’re pooled together to build the Mandir, encouraging cooperation over individual accumulation.

When is the game over?

The game ends when the team successfully builds the complete Mandir by contributing the required tokens from all four pillars. Since it’s a immersive game, everyone wins together when the Mandir is complete. The journey itself — the discussions, the choices, the shared moments — is as meaningful as the destination. There are no individual winners or losers; the family succeeds as one.

What is Sadbuddhi?

Sadbuddhi means “divine wisdom” or “right understanding.” In the game, the Sadbuddhi mechanic is a special guidance system. When the team is stuck on a difficult decision or facing a challenging Maya Block, the Sant character (or any player holding a Sadbuddhi token) can invoke divine guidance. This reveals a wisdom quote from dharmic texts and provides a hint about the most beneficial path forward, helping the family navigate tough choices together.
